AC Milan have reportedly made an offer for Dinamo Zagreb and Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, trumping Arsenal in the process.
The North London side have been strongly linked with making a January move for the young playmaker with agent Miroslav Bicanic claiming that Arsene Wenger was leading a long list of potential suitors last month.
However, according to Tuttosport, AC Milan coach, Filipo Inzaghi has held a long term interest in the midfielder and has submitted an initial offer of £3.5m.
That bid is likely to be rejected with the Croatian side demanding more closer to the £8m mark.
Brozovic joined Dinamo Zagreb from Lokomotiva in 2012 and has played an important part in their recent successes.
