Chelsea secured top spot in Group G of the Champions League with a superb 5-0 win over Schalke.

The visitors raced into the lead when captain John Terry headed in a corner from Cesc Fabregas within just three minutes.

The home side looked nervous as they welcomed Jose Mourinho’s side and they found themselves further behind when Willian got himself on the scoresheet, firing a low shot underneath the body of Fahrmann.

Diego Costa then missed an open goal for Chelsea, before Oscar tested the Schalke keeper, resulting in an own goal after the ball deflected off Jan Kirchoff.

The fourth goal came in the 77th minute, as Didier Drogba rolled the ball into an empty net to score his 50th European goal and that was rounded off by a Ramires strike which made it 5-0.
