Former Man United star blasts Man City’s European form

Former Manchester United defender Quinton Fortune has blasted rivals Manchester City over their Champions League form.

Man United finished 22 points behind City last season and failed to qualify for the Champions League after a dismal season under now Real Sociedad boss David Moyes.

City have not won a match in the Champions League this season and secured just two points from four games and Fortune is baffled by their lack of performance in the competition.

“This is their fourth straight season in the Champions League and they don’t seem to have learned anything at all,” Fortune told Goal.

“United have not had a great start to the season but in that same group as City they would have done better, for sure.

“City have enough depth in their squad but they haven’t taken advantage of it. It’s hard to explain.

“United’s big plus is their experience. Wayne Rooney is a Champions League winner, so is Michael Carrick, so is Angel Di Maria. And the manager knows all about winning the Champions League, too.”
