Shock move to PSG a possibility for Man United star

Several reports from France are speculating that PSG could be lining up a shock bid for Manchester United’s £60 million pound man Angel Di Maria.

Di Maria, who only arrived on transfer deadline day for a reported fee of £59.7 million almost signed for the French champions in the summer, although the move eventually collapsed due to Financial Fair Play rules.

PSG had, at the time, just signed David Luiz from Chelsea for £50 million, and in a last ditch attempt to abide by the new financial regulations, pulled the plug on the Argentine’s move to Paris.

Whilst no clear transfer fee has yet been mooted, it is a near certainty that, should they make a move for the winger, Les Rouge-et-Bleu would have to part with a fee of at least a similar amount to what United paid to bring the forward to England.

It is believed that, should this transfer take place, Manchester United boss Van Gaal would try and lure either Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo to the Theatre of Dreams.

Either of these players would require a vast outlay, and with United having recently revealed a 9.9% drop in revenues for the season so far, it seems likely that the only way a transfer for either of the Real Madrid stars would be viable would be for United to sell a top player.

These stories have been lent some credence by quotes attributed to United’s marquee signing, who revealed that he regretted not making the move to Paris, and suggested that it would interest him, should the chance arise in the future.
