Chelsea make contact with Dortmund over Reus

Football Express News understands that Chelsea have offered Andre Schurrle in January for Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus.

The German international has been strongly linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund in recent seasons and looked poised to make a summer switch to either Manchester United or Barcelona.

However, injury which kept him out of his country’s World Cup campaign in Brazil scuppered any chance of a move and he continued with the Bundesliga club, recovering from injury and starting the season well.

Premier League champions Manchester City and Arsenal have held interest in Reus, however, it is now understood that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has joined the race.

The Portuguese tactician has now approached Dortmund with the idea to swap Andre Schurrle and a financial package for Reus, but is unsure the Bundesliga side will accept.

Schurrle has struggled this season to refind the form and playing time he had last season under Mourinho.
