Wilshere desperate to face Scotland, despite Man United clash

Jack Wilshere is “desperate” to play for England against Scotland on Tuesday, despite Arsenal’s crunch clash with Man United this coming weekend.

Wilshere played the full 90 minutes as England beat Slovenia to maintain their 100% unbeaten record in qualifying for the Euro 2016 campaign.

The midfielder is now expected to be rested for Tuesday’s friendly with Scotland, but the Arsenal man has revealed how he desperately wants to feature, despite Arsenal playing Man United four days later.

“I’m desperate to play,” he told reporters. “They are the games that every England player wants to be playing in.

“You ask any member of my family or anyone who knows what it’s like and they’d never forgive me if I didn’t play. They will always say, England-Scotland, that it’s going to be a great atmosphere. I want to play in that.

“For me, it’s going to be a bit tougher than the Slovenia game; they’ll be a bit more up for it on their home ground so we’ll be ready for it.”
