Real Madrid will be without Luka Modric after the midfielder picked up a knock on international duty with Croatia.
The 29-year-old featured from the start for his country as they drew 101 against Italy on Sunday but was forced to leave the field after just 30 minutes with an injury.
And, scans and tests from doctors have revealed that the former Tottenham Hotspur man will now be ruled out until 2015.
“Modric felt pain in his adductor and will undergo tests in Madrid to determine the extent of the knock. We will know more on Monday or Tuesday,” Croatia coach Niko Kovac told HTV.
Initial reports claim that he will miss up-to five weeks of action and will be a big absence for club side Real Madrid, whom he has started 17 games for this season.
His absence could see Arsenal and Chelsea target Sami Khedira return to action.
