Low tells Podolski to think over Arsenal situation

Germany coach Joachim Low insists Lukas Podolski must “think about his situation” at Arsenal in January.

The 29-year-old has found playing time hard to come by this season, despite impressing when he has been given the chance by boss Arsene Wenger.

Just 74 minutes on the field in the Premier League and Champions League combined; the former Bayern Munich man is now ready to hold talks with the North London club about his future.

And, his national boss Joachim Low believes he must do so – sooner rather than later.

“It’s in my plans that Podolski will play from the start,” Low told reporters. “I’m aware he doesn’t play a lot right now for Arsenal. He needs to play competitive games. Sometimes he lacks the physical condition to play the full 90 minutes.

“He has to think about his situation. I’m still convinced about his abilities, but he needs high intensity.”
