Inter Milan open talks to sign Arsenal striker

Inter have opened talks over a loan move for Arsenal striker Joel Campbell, which would include an option to buy value of £7m.

Campbell, 22, signed for the Gunners in 2011 but saw work permit problems restrict him from playing for the North London side and thus – seeing him enjoy loan spells with French side Lorient, Spanish side Real Betis and Greek side Olympiakos.

Much wanted after a good season with the Greek champions, Campbell was in good form for his country, Costa Rica, at the World Cup in Brazil this summer.

Numerous European clubs showed interest over the summer with Inter Milan keen to sign the youngster, however, after speaking with boss Arsene Wenger, Campbell chose to remain with the English club and take his chances as they came.

However, two appearances in the Premier League this season has now upset the striker, who is understood to be unhappy as he was promised more playing time if he chose to stay at the Emirates stadium.

Serie A side Inter have now made contact with the Gunners over a six month loan move which will also include a £7m option to buy next summer.
