Lamela to be sold as Levy plans Spurs rebuild

Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela will be sold in January as Daniel Levy plans to rebuild the squad after a poor start to the season.

Spurs have struggled to find form this season and the pressure building on boss Mauricio Pochettino is continuing to develop, leaving director Daniel Levy with the job of rebuilding the squad in the coming January transfer window.

Whilst a number of new arrivals are set to be signed, some of Spurs’ highest earners are set to be sold with Brazilian midfielder Paulinho and Argentine Erik Lamela expected to leave.

Napoli and Inter Milan are hoping to sign Lamela, who has struggled to find his feet in English football.

Lamela became Tottenham’s most expensive player when they broke their transfer record last summer, paying Roma £30million to secure his services.

He was one of the players tasked with filling the boots of Welsh winger Gareth Bale, who left for La Liga giants Real Madrid
