Darjo Srna has told Mateo Kovacic to end his time in Italy and leave Inter Milan.
The 20-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to a number of European clubs in recent times with Liverpool and Manchester United linked from the Premier League.
The latter have been monitoring the situation of the attacking midfielder for some-time after his role in the Inter side became questioned last season.
Backed by the club’s fans to remain at the club, his international team-mate Darjo Srna has reacted in a different manner, calling on the Croatian to leave Serie A and concentrate on fore filling his potential.
“Mateo is one of the best young players in Serie A, but, if he wants to progress, he must go to another club. Inter are far from their glory days,” Srna told reporters on Tuesday.
