Former Man United boss Moyes takes over at Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad have appointed former Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes as their new coach.

Moyes was the Spanish side’s first choice after sacking Jagoba Arrasate earlier this month, however, negotiations had come to a halt on Monday evening which led to numerous reports that Pepe Mel would take over.

However, the Basque club have since agreed terms with Moyes and his appointment has been confirmed on the club’s official website.

“Real Sociedad have reached an agreement with David Moyes to be the club’s first-team coach until June 30, 2016,” a short statement read.

Moyes, who left Everton last summer to take over at Manchester United will become the highest paid coach in the club’s history with wages of around £1.5m per year.
