Spanish striker Diego Costa has spoken about his decision to leave Atletico Madrid and join Chelsea.
The Spanish international is currently representing his adopted country at the World Cup in Brazil but is fully expected to arrive in London and link up with his new team-mates next season after a deal was struck between the Spanish champions and Jose Mourinho’s side.
Spanish daily AS reports an interview with the forward confirming that he will be at Stamford Bridge and the reasons why he decided to make the move to Chelsea.
“Why did I choose Chelsea? It is going to happen, it is all about taking my career in the right direction. If all goes well, that is where I will be next season.
“I want to play in the Premier League and for Chelsea, they are one of the best teams in the world, so there were lots of reasons that led me to make the decision.”
Costa’s arrival at Chelsea is likely to see the end of another former Atletico Madrid star Fernando Torres, whilst Romelu Lukaku is also expected to leave.
