Spurs look to offload stars

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino looks set to offload some of his stars at White Hart Lane following his side’s less than impressive start to the season.

Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Stoke City was Tottenham’s fourth home loss of the season and the Argentine now looks set to start bringing in his own players to put across his own footballing ideology.

To obtain his desired targets such as Southampton duo Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez, several Spurs stars are set to make an exit, with England duo Andros Townsend and Aaron Lennon two of the four names being branded about, with Vlad Chiriches and Paulinho the other two surplus to requirements.

The quartet of players have only made four appearances between them this season and it seems Pochettino’s patients with them has run out.

In order to complete raid on former club Southampton, the Spurs boss will need to come up with a package close to £40m and he’s prepared to use a number of his fringe and under-performing players to supplement his January transfer budget.

In his search for new talent, Pochettino has also been scouring the South American market for potential new signings.

River Plate striker Teo Gutierrez, who played for Colombia in the World Cup, has been watched by Spurs scouts.
