Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has admitted that winger Angel Di Maria find it hard to make an impact against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
United went on to win the game thanks to a goal from substitute Juan Mata, but Dutch boss Van Gaal has discussed how Angel di Maria struggled to make an impact, adding to some indifferent performances against West Brom, Chelsea and Manchester City of late.
Van Gaal says that the former Real Madrid did not have the best of games, but believes he can push on and make an impact in the coming weeks.
“Yeah but also for him it was more difficult because the space is very small, especially when you are a player who likes to dribble,” he told MUTV. “He had to dribble around a lot of players. It was more a passing game.
Van Gaal then discussed the Juan Mata’s impact from the bench.
“It doesn’t change the fomation or the style of play but he scored and that is the most important thing.”
