Yaya Toure apologises to Man City fans

Yaya Toure has apologised to Manchester City supporters for getting sent off in the Champions League defeat to CSKA Moscow on Wednesday evening.

The Ivorian midfielder scored during the game but saw his goal cancelled out by two Seydou Doumbia goals in a result which leaves City tinkering on the brink of elimination from the competition.

The result sends winless City to the bottom of Group E and give them all to do against Bayern Munich and Roma in their remaining games.

That job will be increasingly harder after both Fernandinho and Yaya Toure were sent off against CSKA Moscow and the latter has apologised for his dismissal.

“City fans – I am sorry for my red card. I feel it is important to apologise for this,” he tweeted.

“Felling very sad for the result and for my sent off tonight. I want to apologise with my team mates and fans for the red card. Sorry.”
