Man City all-but crash out of Champions League

Manchester City are on the verge of Champions League elimination after their nine men lost 2-1 at home to CSKA Moscow.

Seydou Doumbia was the man who caused City all sorts of problems as he scored either side of a Yaya Toure free-kick to earn the Russian side a deserved win and one that has disastrous circumstances for the English champions.

Both Fernandinho and Toure were both sent off for City as Manuel Pellegrini’s side began to become frustrated at failing to break down their opponents.

City will now be knocked out of the tournament if they lose to Bayern Munich and there is a winner between CSKA and Roma in two week’s time.

Doumbia headed the Russians ahead when Toure allowed him to run free during a set piece, before the midfielder would make up for his mistake from a free-kick.

However, the home side could do little to stop Doumbia from adding a second and one that would win the match.
