Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has angered fans of Arsenal after celebrating Anderlecht’s leveller in the 3-3 Champions League draw on Tuesday night.
Arsene Wenger’s side went 3-0 ahead during the game at the Emirates Stadium, but goals from Anthony Vanden Borre (2) and Aleksandar Mitrovic saw the Belgian side claim an important point.
Vertonghen wasted no time in celebrating the goal and offering his support to his fellow Belgian players who featured for the visitors.
Arsenal would have qualified for the last 16 had they have won the game but will now have to wait until match day four, though they will have to beat Borussia Dortmund at home.
Vertonghen’s tweet which read ‘Mitrogoal #ARSAND’ was met with 3,090 retweets and 2,181 favourites just 10 minutes after the tweet.
