Man United set to cancel midfielder’s contract

Manchester United are ready to cancel the contract of midfielder Anderson, according to various reports.

The 26-year-old joined United from Porto in 2007 and was seen as the eventual replacement for Paul Scholes, however, his time at the club has failed to be a successful one.

Despite costing £26m, the Brazilian has showed little of his once ‘hottest prospect’ tags and it is now being considered that he will be allowed to walk away from the club.

Anderson signed a new contract in 2010 but the Telegraph claim that he will be released and receive around £1.6m in compensation to United.

Having spent six months on loan with Fiorentina last season, it is expected that the midfielder will gain interest, with some impressed by his two goals against MK Dons in the League Cup earlier this season.
