Mourinho confident Diego Costa will re-find form

Jose Mourinho is confident Diego Costa will soon be back to top form after returning from injury in the 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers.

Costa was ruled out of four competitive games after injuring himself whilst on international duty with his adopted country Spain.

The 26-year-old has been in superb form for the Stamford Bridge club this season since arriving from Atletico Madrid and his boss Jose Mourinho believes that form will be back sooner than later.

“A muscular injury doesn’t just affect your body but also your brain, because after that you are afraid of reactions,” he said. “Normally, the next match for him will be much better.”

Mourinho then had special praise for Brazilian midfielder Oscar, who opened the scoring on Saturday.

“Oscar was our best player,” he added. “When the team recovered the ball he was always sharp and fast, I think he was fantastic.

“He played last Sunday, on Tuesday and [Saturday]. Some other guys didn’t play in midweek so I would expect them to be fresher and sharper than him.

“He’s playing very well, pre-season was difficult for him after the World Cup but he’s giving balance to the team, lots of creativity and the goal is only possible in a very talented boy.”
