Arsenal & Chelsea target gives PSG ultimatum

Edinson Cavani has spoken of his desire to play as a striker for Paris Saint Germain, a problem which has seen him linked with a move to Arsenal and Chelsea in recent months.

The Uruguayan striker has been linked with an exit from PSG after citing his unhappiness at not being played in a more central role.

The former Napoli man confessed that he presumed he would be a striker when he joined the club, and he has asked coach Laurent Blanc to play in his preferred position.

“It’s not a matter of being better in the middle of the attack,” Cavani told Telefoot. “On the flanks, it’s more difficult for me.

“But the most important thing is the team, you have to help sometimes. It is normal for me to complain, as it was my position these last years.

“But a 4-4-2 [up front] with Zlatan? That’s how I imagined to play when I first came at the club. But things change a lot.”

Cavani then discussed links with a move to the Premier League and refused to rule out a move to England.

“Was I happier at Napoli? These are journalist comments – I’m not a smiling person, that’s all,” he admitted.

“Everybody has an opinion. I’m happy at Paris. You don’t know what can happen in football, but my mind is set on PSG.”
