Moyes in line to take over at Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad have sacked coach Jagoba Arrasate after the Basque club suffered a dismal start to the season.

Sitting third bottom in La Liga, having won just one of their 10 games so far this season, Sociedad have been a shadow of the side that qualified for the Champions League last season.

Arrasate too over in 2013 and guided the club to a seventh place finish last season, seeing them qualify for the Europa League this campaign.

However, after poor form and mixture of problems off the field, the Basque coach has now been relieved of his duties.

Txema Lumbreras and Bittor Alkiza have both been fired and will no longer act as coaches.

Meanwhile, a list of potential candidates to take the reigns features Pepe Mel and favourite – David Moyes, who was sacked by Manchester United last season.
