Man United struggling to agree Shaw fee

Football Express News understands that Manchester United are struggling to agree a fee with Southampton for left-back Luke Shaw, despite agreeing terms with the England international.

Personal terms have been agreed between United and Shaw since April but problems regarding a transfer fee continue to rumble on after a reported £27.5m bid was rejected by Southampton last week.

Southampton lost boss Mauricio Pochettino at the end of the season and have since seen Rickie Lambert join Liverpool, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren hand in transfer requests and Shaw agree terms with United.

But the Southern club are holding firm over the latter’s transfer fee as they want to recoup funds to rebuild their squad this summer.

Shaw is currently on international duty with England in Brazil, but it is expected that he wants to return to England and fly straight into Manchester to begin work ready for next season.

United boss Louis van Gaal sees Shaw as the perfect long-term replacement for Patrice Evra.
