Spurs submit bid for Lukaku

Football Express News understands that Tottenham Hotspur have submitted a bid for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian striker has seen his future heavily discussed in recent weeks, following his return to parent club Chelsea at the end of the season, after a successful loan spell with Everton, scoring 16 goals in 33 games.

Whilst, many fans close to the London based club believe the 21-year-old should be given a chance at Stamford Bridge, boss Jose Mourinho is seemingly not keen and has instructed Lukaku’s officials to try and find a new club.

Atletico Madrid had shown interest and wanted the Belgian international included in a deal for Diego Costa, but that now seems unlikely, leaving other clubs such as AC Milan, Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur to show interest.

And, it is the latter who are understood to have submitted a bid to Chelsea late on Sunday evening.

Whether or not Mourinho and his hierarchy will accept the bid is yet to be seen, as a loan deal is preferred.
