Wenger indicates £30m pair could join Arsenal in January

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is eyeing up a January move for West Ham United’s Winston Reid and Barcelona’s Pedro Rodriguez.

With the January transfer window approaching fast, Arsenal boss Wenger is seemingly keen to add extra cover to his side, both defensively and attacking wise.

The French boss has held a long term interest in West Ham United defender Winston Reid, whom he sees as the perfect back-up for pair Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny.

Reid will see his current contract expire at West Ham next summer and it is likely that after failing to negotiate terms on a new deal; he could now be set to leave the club in a cut-price transfer in January.

Liverpool and Manchester United have both showed interest in the New Zealander in the past.

Wenger is also looking closely at Barcelona’s Pedro Rodriguez, who has fallen out of favour with Luis Enrique, having lost his place to the returning Luis Suarez in Saturday’s El Clasico encounter.

Pedro, a Spanish international, is expected to warrant a transfer fee of around £20m-£25m but it seems likely that Barcelona are willing to sell the Tenerife born winger.
