Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says that Robin van Persie’s goal celebration against Chelsea on Sunday was “stupid”.
The Dutch striker scored a 94th minute equaliser against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday, cancelling out Didier Drogba second half header.
Van Persie’s late goal saw him wheel away in celebration, removing his shirt which resulted in himself being booked by referee Phil Dowd, which has been criticised by his boss Louis van Gaal.
“It was a stupid reaction after the goal,” Van Gaal told the press.
“I can see he was excited but after he was booked, it was not so smart.”
