Louis van Gaal has admitted that Jose Mourinho might be better than him, but his side can beat Chelsea on Sunday.

Mourinho’s side have dropped just two points all season, whilst Van Gaal’s start at Old Trafford has been less than impressive, seeing his side lie 10 points of the league leaders heading in to Sunday’s Premier League encounter.

The two managers have a close history, having worked together at Barcelona in the past, and although Van Gaal believes that Mourinho may be better than him at present, he claims that his side have what it takes to beat the Blues on Sunday.

“Jose’s teams are always very organised, that what makes him a very good manager,” he said.

“He is one of the top in the world, I think he might even be better than me but we can win this game, and if I can win a title in another country then I will be his equal again.

“I have only been here for three months,” Van Gaal said. “Jose has been at Chelsea for longer so it is logical he is further on with his team development.”
