West Ham United striker rushed to hospital

West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho has been rushed to hospital after his injury against Manchester City on Saturday.

The Frenchman has been in superb form this season for the Hammers, having scored in his previous six games and his goal against Man City on Saturday saw his side stay in the top three.

However, Sakho was hauled off late on with a shoulder injury and it is understood that he was taken to hospital to have scans on his collarbone.

Chairman David Gold spoke of his worry on social media site Twitter, saying: “I’m worried, we will know better after the scan on Monday.”

Boss Sam Allardyce also said that he was worried about the condition of the former Metz striker.

“My biggest problem is that my leading goalscorer came off towards the end today with a shoulder problem,” he told reporters.

“I sincerely hope that [the] damage is not severe and he can recover very quickly. Anyone who’s scored six in six – you can ill-afford to lose him. If we lose him it’s going to be a big blow.”
