Lille boss Rene Girard believes that forward Divock Origi is as good as Samuel Eto’o and has big future ahead at Liverpool.
Everton were held to a 0-0 draw at the Stade Pierre Mauroy on Thursday night, a result which saw Lille remain third in Group H.
Origi, who is on loan at Lille from Liverpool featured for the French side and his boss has compared him to Toffees striker Samuel Eto’o.
“We thought that it would be tight and it was tight,” Girard said. “We will go to Everton in two weeks hoping to get a result there.
“On the whole, we can be satisfied, we didn’t lose. There are positive notes to take from tonight.
“In today’s game, at least, I saw no difference in quality between Origi and Everton’s Eto’o or Lukaku.”
