Barcelona socio Jordi Cases has dropped the case against Neymar over the details of his move from Santos to the Camp Nou.
Neymar arrived in Barcelona amidst a wave of controversy after Barcelona, Santos and many other club delegates claimed different amounts when mentioning his transfer fee.
Barca insisted at the time that they had paid €57.1 million for Neymar, but fan Jordi Cases believes the full breakdown of the transfer should be revealed and he took then president Sandro Rosell to court last year.
Cases was unhappy at the lack of clarity regarding a €40m payment received by Neymar’s parents.
Rosell came under heavy pressure during the court case and resigned from his role as president in January, being replaced by Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Now, following lengthy reports and financial documents, Cases is happy with the findings.
“Mr. Jordi Cases Guarc, member of FC Barcelona number 57,819, said this morning in a letter to club president Josep Maria Bartomeu that he is satisfied by information obtained through legal proceedings in relation to the recruitment of Santos player Neymar da Silva Jr. and other related contracts with the signing,” Barca said in a statement posted on their official site on Tuesday.
