Liverpool and Arsenal target keen to remain at Etihad stadium

Manchester City midfielder James Milner is hoping to extend his current deal with the club, despite interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.

The 28-year-old, who joined City in 2010 has become an important player for the reigning Premier League champions but with his current deal due to expire next summer – it remains to be seen if he will agree terms on a new deal.

That has led a number of English clubs to show interest with Liverpool and Arsenal both keen on the versatile England interntional.

The likes of Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Edin Dzeko have all agreed long-term deals this year and Milner has continued to desire a new contract.

“James wants to remain here and fight for his place in the team, something he is confident of doing,” a source close to the club informed us.

Should City fail to agree terms with Milner before January, the former Aston Villa man will be allowed to discuss terms with a new club.
