Gerard Pique has issued an apology an incident involving himself and police after parking in a bus lane for too long.
The Barcelona defender returned to the Catalan capital after Spain’s Euro 2016 victory over Luxembourg in the early hours of Monday morning, where he was met by his brother, Marc.
Police approached the pair and handed Marc, the driver of the car, a fine for stopping in a bus lane for too long, prompting the Spanish defender to react in an angry manner.
The defender took to Twitter earlier on Thursday to give his version of events and apologise.
He said: “They’ve exaggerated what I said, but, in any case, I’m sorry, I made a mistake and it won’t happen again.”
