Upsetting Podolski could halt Arsenal’s Hummels chase

Arsene Wenger’s desire to sign Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund could falter if the Arsenal boss does not make peace with Lukas Podolski.

German winger Lukas Podolski has confirmed that he is unhappy with his current role at Arsenal recently and will look for a January move should his situation not improve.

Whilst, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger now faces a decision on the former Bayern Munich attacker; he will also be keen to keep Podolski in the loop as he seeks to make a move for his friend and international team-mate Mats Hummels.

Both Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil have discussed life in North London with Hummels in recent times, but it is Podolski who could hold the keys in tempting the Borussia Dortmund man to join.

The pair spent time together during 2006-2009 at Bayern Munich and have remained together over the years, both representing the German national side.
