Everton keen on tractor boy Tyrone Mings

Everton have been linked to making a January move for highly rated Ipswich Town defender Tyrone Mings.

The 21-year-old has established himself as one of the Football League’s hottest properties and it seems many Premier League clubs have been sending scouts to Portman Road to find out more about him, with Everton leading the queue.

Ipswich are currently 6th in the Sky Bet Championship and any ideas on promotion will only be entertained if they can keep their squad together.

Everton are no strangers to searching for talent in the lower leagues, with their purchase of John Stones from Barnsley testament to the talent that lies below the Premier League.

Stones has gone on to become a regular in the starting line up at Goodison Park and Roberto Marinez will have similar hopes of Mings, whose pace, physical presence and ability to get forward make him one of the most complete modern day full backs outside of England’s top division.

With the Toffees defence coming under scrutiny this season Everton may have to make their move for Mings as soon as January amidst reports of Chelsea, Arsenal and Crystal Palace all reportedly keen on him.
