Three top European clubs in for Man United’s Juan Mata

Three top European clubs have emerged as front runners to sign Juan Mata from Manchester United in January, Football Express News understands.

The Spanish midfielder joined United in January 2014 but has failed to live up to the expectations on his shoulders which came following consistent performances for Valencia, Chelsea and the Spanish national side over recent years.

Reports linking Mata with a summer exit were heavy in the summer with the likes of Paris Saint Germain and Barcelona interested.

However, following the arrival of Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao from Real Madrid and Monaco respectively, Mata has found playing time hard to come by and was recently left out of the starting line-up for last Sundays 5-3 defeat to Leicester City.

And, with the January transfer window growing closer, it is understood that Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Valencia are all keen on making a move.

It is understood that the Spanish international would ideally like a return to Spain with either of the aforementioned, however, Juventus are reportedly keen to get him involved in any such deal for Arturo Vidal, should Man United be successful in tempting the Chilean midfielder.
