Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic has played down reports over an injury he suffered whilst on international duty with the Serbian national side.
Markovic was taken off just 26 minutes into his country’s draw with Armenia on Sunday and caused panic amongst Liverpool coaches and club doctors over the full extent of his injury.
However, despite reports suggesting that the 20-year-old has suffered a muscular problem, the former Benfica man has confirmed via social media site Facebook that first fears are just that and that he is available to play for the Reds this coming weekend.
Markovic wrote: “I’m ready for the match [on Tuesday]! Injury is not as bad as it seemed at first sight.”
