Man United target returns to Roma training

Manchester United target Kevin Strootman has made his long awaited return to training with Italian side Roma.

The Dutch midfielder has been strongly linked with Man United in recent times but saw any such move to England ruled out after he suffered a serious knee injury, keeping him out of his country’s World Cup campaign this summer in Brazil.

Rumours continue to be heard in Italian and English press regarding Strootman’s future at Serie A side Roma, with some reports claiming he will not be sold, but others claiming that Paris Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot will be signed as his replacement.

United’s interest will remain solid until they receive a definite no, but their interest may now take a further step after he returned to full fitness.

However, the 24-year-old is now closing in on a long-awaited return to first-team action and could feature this coming weekend as Roma face Chievo.
