Youngster set for 2,400 percent pay rise at Man United

Young Man United defender Tyler Blackett is set to sign a new and improved deal at Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old centre back has burst on to the scene this season for Man United after new boss Louis van Gaal installed him alongside the likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans at the heart of the Old Trafford defence.

Blackett, who is currently on £2,000 per week is now set to increase that figure by a whopping 2,400% and sign a £50,000 per week contract.

Meanwhile, team-mate Angel Di Maria is delighted to have joined the club and feels honoured to wear the much coveted number seven shirt.

“It is a source of motivation,” Di Maria told MUTV. “When you wear a shirt that’s been worn by the likes of [David] Beckham and [Cristiano] Ronaldo, it’s something you’re always going to be pleased about.

“The fact that the club have chosen to give me that shirt number also gives me a huge confidence boost, so that’s why I’m very happy to have this number.”
