Arsenal boss discusses Walcott and Ramsey injuries

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has taken time out to discuss a number of injury problems at the club, claiming Theo Walcott is set to return.

The Gunners have suffered another bad week in terms of injuries after German national midfielder Mesut Ozil had scans on his left knee, which discovered a ligament injury which will now see him miss at least three months of football.

Wenger has had to deal with a whole host of injuries in recent seasons and has been left without Theo Walcott, Serge Gnabry and Aaron Ramsey already this season, but the French boss has discussed their potential return to full fitness.

“Theo is not too far away now,” said Wenger. “Serge has been out for a long, long time and Theo has also been out for nine months, so it’s good to see them back. They’ve worked very hard and they’re very dedicated. They are back in the group on a daily basis and that’s very good news.

“For Ramsey it’s day 13 today and I think it will be day 21 before he is back into training. Arteta may be back with the group late next week.”
