Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul could miss this weekend’s clash with Leicester City after scans revealed the Dutchman has elbow ligament damage.
The 26-year-old sustained the problem during a training session with his national side on Saturday and returned to Tyneside before the Oranje’s shock 2-0 loss in Iceland on Monday.
According to a statement on the Club’s official website Krul could now be a doubt for a game manager: “Newcastle United have received the results of goalkeeper Tim Krul’s scan on Monday,” a statement on www.nufc.co.uk read.
“It showed ligament damage to his left elbow and Krul will be assessed further by the Magpies’ medical staff ahead of Saturday’s Barclays Premier League fixture against Leicester City.”
Rob Elliot is expected to deputise against the Foxes at St James’ Park as Alan Pardew’s side continue their pursuit of a first Barclays Premier League win of the season.
