Pedro turned down summer Arsenal move

Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez turned down a move to Arsenal this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Arguably, Pedro Rodriguez’s best years came at Barcelona whilst under the management of Pep Guardiola, where he once became the first player ever to score in six different competitions.

The Spanish winger has since struggled to hold down a first team place under the likes of Tata Martino and the late Tito Vilanova, but is currently playing more under new boss Luis Enrique.

Enrique has inspired Barca to a solid La Liga start, having remained unbeaten and gone seven games without scoring a goal and the former midfielder’s arrival at the club is partly the reason Pedro decided to stay this summer.

The Tenerife-born attacker had a big money offer from Arsenal this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo, but chose to remain when he learnt of Enrique’s arrival, prompting the Gunners to agree a deal with Alexis Sanchez instead.
