Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has travelled to Munich to undergo a scan on his knee and will now be ruled out for 12 weeks.
Ozil is currently on international duty with the German national side as they brace themselves to face Poland on Saturday and Republic of Ireland next Tuesday.
The World Cup winner played 90 minutes for Arsenal as they lost 2-0 to Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, but he has now been ruled out for 12 weeks with a knee ligament injury.
DFB spokesman Jens Grittner wrote on Twitter earlier on Tuesday: “Second training without [Andre] Schurrle (individually at the hotel) and Ozil. He had travelled with knee problems, is to have an MRI scan in Munich.”

The news will come as a concern to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger who has had numerous injury problems to deal with this season.
