Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has informed team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo not to ‘re-join’ Manchester United and stay at the club.
Ronaldo has been in superb form for Real Madrid this season but constant reports in both Spanish and English press have cited that the Portuguese international could be on his way back to Manchester United next summer.
The likelihood of that move happening looks uncertain with Madrid seemingly unwilling to sell their prized asset and Ronaldo’s team-mate Gareth Bale has urged him to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu.
A source close to the club said: “No-one here, playing staff, wants Ronaldo to leave and Bale has been urging him to stay.”
Ronaldo, Bale and Karim Benzema have formed a superb front three this season so far but forces higher up at Madrid are unsure they can stop the former United star from making a return to England.
“We do not know what Ronaldo wants, he could leave, he could stay, but he is fully focused on performing this season.”
