Liverpool watch on as Milner discusses future

Manchester City midfielder James Milner is hoping to extend his current deal with the club, but his future is being monitored by a number of Premier League clubs.

The 28-year-old, who joined City in 2010 has become an important player for the reigning Premier League champions but with his current deal due to expire next summer – it remains to be seen if he will agree terms on a new deal.

That has led a number of English clubs to show interest with Liverpool and Arsenal both keen on the versatile England interntional.

The likes of Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Edin Dzeko have all agreed long-term deals this year and Milner has discussed how he hopes to be next in line.

“We’ve been in talks with the club,” Milner told reporters. “We’ve talked about it and hopefully it can get sorted sometime soon.

”I don’t want to be paid to sit and watch. You want to feel like you’re contributing and enjoy your football as much as you can, so I am in a happier place now.”
