Arsenal keep tabs on German shot-stopper

Arsenal are amongst a long list of European clubs who are monitoring Bayer Leverkusen keeper Bernd Leno.

The 22-year-old joined Leverkusen in 2011 from Stuttgart and immediately forced his way in to the first team, impressing with his displays.

Having representing the German national side at various youth levels, Leno has begun to catch the eye of several bigger European teams, with Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool all showing interest from the English Premier League.

The German U21 international is confident of seeing his current deal out at the Bundesliga club, but conflicting reports in Germany have led the likes of the aforementioned to show interest.

“A transfer? I’m fine here. My contract will expire in 2018, and this is a great club. I want to stay here as much as possible,” he told reporters.

Joining those is Arsenal, whom have discussed the option of signing the youngster in the past., as a long term replacement for Wolciech Szczesny.
