Champions League: PSG end Barca’s unbeaten start

Our round of Tuesday night’s action in the Champions League sees Barcelona’s unbeaten start to the season ended by Paris Saint Germain in a five-goal showcase.

Barcelona travelled to Paris in good form, having not conceded a goal in their opening six competitive games of the season but they conceded after just 10 minutes as former Chelsea defender David Luiz was able to steer home his effort.

Moments later though, Lionel Messi finished off a sublime move to get his team back on level terms.

However, the goals would keep on coming as Marco Verratti punished Barcelona’s defence from a corner and headed past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The second half would then see Blaise Matuidi make it 3-1 to the Ligue 1 side and despite Neymar’s goal for Barca – Laurent Blanc’s side held on for a famous win.

Earlier on Tuesday, Pep Guardiola’s side travelled to Russia to face CSKA Moscow and it took a single goal from Thomas Muller, who scored from the spot, to give Bayern Munich all three points.

APOEL and Ajax played out a 1-1 draw in which Gustavo Manduca and Lucas Anderson scored, respectively.

Schalke and Maribor also had a 1-1 draw which saw Klaas Jan Huntelaar return to the goals and save his side, cancelling out Damjan Bohar’s goal.

Shakhtar Donetsk and Porto played out a superb 2-2 draw which saw the Portuguese side come from behind late on. Jackson Martinez was the hero as his two 90th minute goals gave the visitors a point.

And, finally Athletic Bilbao find it hard against BATE, losing 2-1.
