Mirallas out for up to six weeks

Everton star Kevin Mirallas looks set to miss over a month of Premier League and International football after pulling his hamstring during the Merseyside derby with Liverpool on Saturday.

Speaking after the game, Toffees manager Roberto Martinez said: “It seems bad. It’s a hamstring and we’re going to assess him in the next 24 hours.”

Mirallas, who has been in good form for the Goodison Park outfit, looks set to miss crucial matches against Manchester United and Aston Villa as well as the trip to Russia to face Krasnodar in the Europa League.

Martinez added: “Kevin has been in great form and we’ve got a lot of games coming up. It’s very unfortunate for us.”

The severity of the injury, which was reported by Belgium News Outlet Het Laatste Nieuws, will also keep the 26-year-old out of his country’s next round of European Qualifiers against Andorra and Bosnia respectively.
