Liverpool midfielder promises better performances

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has promised the club’s fans that his performances will get better as he reaches full fitness.

The England international arrived at Anfield from Southampton this summer in a £25m deal, but has missed the majority of the new season thus far due to a niggling injury problem.

His return to action has yet to see him perform well and produce the form that saw him flourish on the South coast and be part of England’s World Cup plans this summer.

However, the midfielder has promised that he will get better as his full fitness returns.

“After every game I’m feeling more comfortable,” he told the Liverpool Echo. “I just want to keep working hard and I still feel I can improve even more, get better and put in better performances.

“I don’t want to make excuses, but I did miss pre-season. It’s a valuable part of getting the rustiness out. It’s just going to be with game time now.”
