Man United shocked by Leicester City comeback

Leicester City came from behind to shock Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United in an eight goal thriller on Sunday afternoon.

The home side were off to a flyer when they tested David de Gea as early as the first minute through Esteban Cambiasso’s fine free-kick which Wes Morgan nearly converted from.

Just moments later and Leonardo Ulloa came close with a head but the Argentine was denied as his effort went just wide.

Van Gaal’s side burst into life moments later as Angel di Maria began to create chances for forward men Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie.

But it was those two aforementioned linked up to score the first goal of the game as Falcao found his Dutch partner, who headed in from close range.

Moments later and Di Maria would find the back of the net, delightfully chipping over Kasper Schmeichel.

And, from that moment – United looked likely to return comfortably to Old Trafford with all three points but directly from the kick-off, Ulloa headed past de Gea.

United did add a third as the game took another direction when Ander Herrera made it 3-1 but it was a second half performance from the home side that saw the game change.

David Nugent pulled a goal back from the penalty spot after Marcos Rojo fouled the impressive Vardy inside the box, before Vardy himself added a fourth.

The comeback was then completed when Ulloa added one himself from the spot after Tyler Blackett was sent off for a last ditch foul on Vardy.
