West Ham finish off lacklustre Liverpool

West Ham United punished a lacklustre Liverpool by beating them 3-1 on Saturday evening.

It took Sam Allardyce’s side just over a minute to open the scoring ans shock Liverpool when Stewart Downing’s free-kick was headed in by Winston Reid and from that moment on – the home side looked the better.

The Hammers doubled their lead moments later when Diafra Sakho attempted a ambitious cross-come-shot which caught Simon Mignolet napping.

Aaron Creswell then tested Mignolet once more as the home side pushed for a second goal.

Liverpool did get themselves back in the game when Raheem Sterling fired in but their chances were few and far between in the second half.
